Marc Jaffrey OBE

Think Again Media Business PortraitsMarc has 25 years’ experience as a creative leader of high impact campaigns, recently championing the Music Manifesto – one of the most successful arts education campaigns in UK history.

His campaigning skills were built through a range of landmark and award-winning social justice initiatives with equality activists and ad agencies in the 1990’s; they were honed when he joined the BBC in 1997 to run multi-media social action campaigns on literacy, family, education, arts and youth issues.

“Throughout this time I kept coming back to the processes by which ideas where made powerful and campaigns won. Daily creative activities and rigour that increase innovative capability and effective team leadership, that seemed to make the difference.”

Marc became a commissioner of multi-platform and digital music and learning content at the BBC working on projects at R1, R2, R3, the Proms- developing a portfolio of critically acclaimed and award-winning services.

Following his work on the Music Manifesto he remains an advisor to Ministers and officials with the Department of Children, Schools and Families and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA).

He was awarded the OBE in 2009, for services to music and education.

“Now, as a dad of two girls, I’m increasingly concerned with the viability and sustainability of the world they are inheriting. I believe creative competencies will be a vital part of what will equip them to live a sustainable future and face the challenges earlier generations have created for them.”

On some days he’d just be happy for Arsenal to win the Premiership.
